Revenge of the Nuclear Family

Every day at work I go in and here more and more about people having kids, worrying about their families. I do not have any kids, I may never have kids. Does this make me a bad person? Black sheep to society?

The age of people starting families has returned to a range of 16 - 20. I am well past that now; perhaps I missed the bus on this one.

Everywhere we look now the push for family is on, family discounts, family diners, family everything. What are those of us who are living without kids getting... Nothing!

Are we being punished for not procreating the species with more uneducated, undisciplined little bastards? I for one do not think this is right, we are people too and deserve things for ourselves. I recently got word that certain cities are opening child-free restaurants, this to me sounds like a great idea. If I am spending $100+ for a nice night out with my girl I want to know that I will not have to listen to a pissed off kid screaming all night. I am not saying that children should be locked up at home, but those of us who do not want a family deserve peace and quiet.

I have no problem with children, they can bring great joy to your life. But that joy does not spread to all of us.

White Knight,
