Forums - Have you trolled lately?
I spend a good part of my day going through forums for all kinds of things. World of Warcraft, technology, health science, etc. You know what these forums all have in common; people trolling and flaming with no regard for the topic.
These trolls don't care what the subject or question is they simply want to prove that they are right, you are wrong and are stupid for asking in the first place. Lots of the places I go to are discussions and after the first dozen posts its all trolls, flaming and bickering between the trolls on both sides.
Do you people not have anything better to do then sit in forums and discussion boards and bash other people who are asking perfectly viable questions? Really get a life.

Torontonians ("People from Toronto")
Why the hell are people from large cities so rude? Had a guy in the store the other day and was wanting to do a return; we made it very clear that it was not possible and he went off on a tirade. Wow you live in Toronto, zippidy do da, did you want a cookie.
Really, I understand this is a smaller city and people probably think we are hill billies or some shit but that is no reason to give off such attitude. Same thing with people in Vancouver; friend came back recently and she told us that everyone there was really rude and obnoxious towards everyone else.
It doesn't take much to be nice, and city dwellers are not that different from us. Next time you come to a small city and think about lipping off to the locals, think twice.

White Knight,
Dear Dad,
Well its been just over a month since you passed away so suddenly, its been rough for us of course mostly for mom. I am sorry to say it but I am not feeling that much grief right now. People keep telling me that its not a big deal, it will hit me later and then it will all come tumbling down on top of me. I always loved you and wished we had spent more time together towards the end.
As the days pass I think of the conversations and debates we are missing about politics, religion and of course fatherhood. Who am I going to have those fatherly discussions with now where I need advice or guidance on what to do?
Mom and Nate say you are still around the house, they see signs that your spirit is with us still, and I like to think that it always will be. If nothing else, stick around to watch over mom and make sure she is getting by okay.
Things are going well for myself and the family right now, getting the kids ready for a family vacation this summer at Science North and Dynamic Earth. Heather is really pumped. Evan is getting ready for soccer and swimming lessons. Wish you could have watched him play, perhaps you will be I don't know.
love ya Dad.

Security, Security, Security
We hear about it everyday, we are told not to give out any kind of personal information because it could cost us everything we had. I ask for your SIN# and you say no, drivers license you say No! Yet security should take a back seat when it may inconvenience you in any small way.
Had a customer looking to get a phone, they said the account holder had provided written authorization to make any changes. - Not listed on the account, no dice! This was apparently a huge inconvenience for them, and they said the following:
"You would make a 76 year old woman come all the way in here just to get her new phone?"
The answer is yes, she lives 20min away and it for her own safety. My apologies folks but we take personal and financial security very seriously. These are the rules, learn to deal with them. Funny thing is this same principle applies to computers as follows:
Lower Security = Greater Speed and performance
Greater Security = Lower performance
In this day and age it a time a give and take, we simply have to find a happy medium and run with it. We cannot demand everything we want, or take your answer with a smile and faith. Security will only be getting stronger as we go along in this world.
